Client: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Agency: Fiduciary Tech
Role: Senior Product / UX Designer
Team: AWS Educate
Summary
AWS's education programs: Educate, re/Start, and Academy were created independently over several years, resulting in fragmented learner experiences. I partnered with AWS to modernize and unify these programs under a shared UX foundation aligned with the AWS Skill Builder design language.

Problem
Learners often move between AWS education programs as their skills grow, but the platforms felt disconnected. Key challenges included:
- Inconsistent UI patterns, spacing, and visual language
- Different navigation models and information architectures
- Varying levels of accessibility and responsiveness
- Perception that each program was a separate product rather than part of a cohesive ecosystem
This fragmentation increased cognitive load and reduced confidence, especially for early-career and non-traditional learners.
Solution
I helped establish a unified UX framework across all programs by:
- Aligning layouts, navigation, and content patterns to Skill Builder standards
- Standardizing typography, spacing, and interaction models
- Reducing cognitive load while preserving each program’s unique purpose
- Creating a scalable foundation for future enhancements without requiring full platform rewrites
Impact
- A cohesive, modernized learning ecosystem across AWS education programs
- Improved usability and consistency for learners transitioning between offerings
- Stronger alignment with AWS’s broader design language and accessibility standards
